The History Of Ondel-Ondel

Ondel-ondel is a Betawi folk performances and often displayed in people's parties. It seems that ondel-ondel portray ancestors that preserves their grandchildren or a villagers.

Kampung Dodol Kalibata

I lived near Kalibata, My apartment is in Kalibata and but until yesterday I havent know there is kampung Dodol in Kalibata, I mean I know there is kampung dodol in Kalibata but I havent got there...so yesterday I just knew the location.

What can I say bout Dodol Bu Mamas.... I think this is one of the famous dodol in Jakarta. Why I said so....this is because when I search through Google dodol bu Mamas is one of the list, and it said that bu Mamas dodol’s has been delivered until Saudi Arabia, when Indonesia worker bought and brought it until Saudi. When I come there to get the sample of Dodol, her Daugher (if I am not mistaken) said that, many TV station has come to her place to filming about the making of dodol especially during Ramadhan.

 Setu Babakan or Small Lake Babakan is located in Srengseng Sawah, Sub-district of Jagakarsa, Municipality of South Jakarta, Indonesia near Depok at the center of the Betawi Cultural Village, a site considered part of the cultural heritage of Jakarta, which is devoted to the preservation of the indigenous Betawi culture.
The Situ Babakan Lake has an area of 32 hectares (79 ac) in which the water flows in from the Ciliwung River and currently is used for fish farming by the Betawi people who live in the vicinity of the lake.
There are more than 100 floating net cages placed in the lake to breed different kinds of fish, including carp, tilapia, and several species of ornamental fish. The lake is a place for aquatic recreational activities, such as rafting, and fishing. The garden surrounding the lake is cultivated with fruit plants, such as banana, coconut, and guava.
